Welcome To the Taumarunui Community Website

The members of Enterprising Taumarunui Inc welcome you to our new website.

The primary objective of the website is for the purpose of providing the local community with an information portal to keep in touch with what is going on in and around Taumarunui. In addition the website provides an information base for outside visitors or potential new residents to the town.

Taumarunui is a town situated in the centre of the province called the 'King Country'. Taumarunui is predominantly now a farming community town that has seen a number of industries come and go over the last 100 years and has now settled as a peaceful place based on a community spirit set with a backdrop of the magnificent Ruapehu.

In close proximity to Taumarunui are the magnificent Tongariro World Heritage Park and the Whanganui National Park which has the amazing Whanganui River running through from Taumarunui to Whanganui.

About the Website

We have taken the best from our existing website and researched a number of other community websites around the country and believe we have the right mix of content to offer our varied audiences.

Enterprising Taumarunui Inc now own the following domain names which are all linked together for improved search engine accessibility and to enhance historic domain names as well as some new ones.

www.taumarunui.co.nz
www.middle-of-everywhere.co.nz
www.taumarunuionline.co.nz
www.heartofthekingcountry.co.nz

The site is a living platform and a number of local community members are the content editors for news, coming events and regular information that needs updating on a regular basis to ensure the site remains current.

More pages will be added regularly as we build up our Enterprising Taumarunui membership base and any feedback you can give us would be much appreciated as to content you would like to see on the website.

Advertising

The new website has been designed with an advertising section on the right hand side of every page. These sections enable two adverts per page and offer the local community an advertising medium to advertise local products and services. These will be in short supply as there are only a small number of slots per page.

To book advertising space on any of the pages please contact us at advertising@taumarunuionline.co.nz and include the number of the advertising space you would like to register interest for.

Website Banner

The banner of the website was a team effort from the Enterprising Taumarunui Inc and a number of locals in the town.

The general backdrop image is courtesy of Roger Moore who has been instrumental in keeping the original website of Taumarunui running and Roger took this photo of the town from the top of Hospital Hill which set the backdrop for the banner.

The clock on the left has significant history in the town and was an engineering project designed and built for the town by Paul Gellatly. The clock can be seen in the main street of the town (Hakiaha St) and has become a landmark for Taumarunui and represents one of the historical influences that rail has brought to the town over the years.

The lady on the right is a local who is weaving (raranga harakeke) and the photo is supplied with courtesy of Visit Ruapehu.
