Enterprising Taumarunui Incorporated has gone through quiet times with few business people prepared to put their time into ensuring the organisation continued to be a reflection and voice for the growth of business in the Taumarunui Area. This was mainly due to their being no direction given by local business and poor levels of engagement with the local District Council. After a public meeting in November 2007 which attracted good attendance from the business community, it was decided by those who attended subsequent meetings to formulate a Strategic Plan that identified the direction and key objectives for Enterprising Taumarunui Inc.
There is new people involved in the Organisation that want to see Taumarunui succeed. There is seen to be a need for a direction to follow that will offer local business hope for the future and to be a conduit for concerns to Council. With Taumarunui succeeding comes the benefits of community and business growth.
